Clifford Akonteh

National Director

Akonteh is the National Coordinator of the Movement for Democracy, Development and Transparency.

He is a Cameroonian lawyer and managing partner of Poubom and Partners Law Firm, with over 10 years of civil society experience in the promotion of human rights and democracy.

He is the founder of The Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA) in Central Africa and Francophone countries, a youth leadership African network in 40 Universities and 26 Countries. 

Akonteh is the initiator of the “Not Too Young to Vote Campaign” a digital innovation to mobilize 2 million youths, to vote, run for elections and restrain from electoral violence. He is 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow (MWF), elected Chairperson of its Regional Advisory Board, overseeing alumni activities in 21 African Countries and advisory contact of USAID and IREX. He currently serves as President of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association Cameroon.
